Strood Riverside Flood Defences

Overview
Medway Council awarded VolkerStevin the contract to improve flood defences and raise ground levels on the River Medway. The work includes the construction of an 850m long steel sheet pile river wall, demolition of a concrete storage building, remediation, drainage installation and highway realignment.

The defences will ensure that the development of the Strood Riverside area and former Civic Centre sites are protected into the future.

Enabling works started in April 2018 with project completion planned for April 2019.

Planancy Role
Planancy have an on-site role planning role within the Project Management Team – initially developing construction programmes in Microsoft project and as work progressed – monitoring and reporting on progress. As the project progressed, we were asked to produce compensation event impacted and no-impacted programmes and delay claim reports

Outcomes
Monthly NEC Clause 32 programmes were produced in MSP which included compensation event impacted and non-impacted programmes and narratives
