Old Oak Common Depot, London

Overview
Transport for London’s new Old Oak Common Depot has come into service as the maintenance base and main train-crew facility for the 70 strong fleet of Elizabeth Line trains with the ability to locate 42 trains at any one time.

Taylor Woodrow, part of the Vinci Group was appointed as Principal Contractor for the design and construction of the Depot and Bombardier will operate the facility as part of a 32-year construction and maintenance package awarded in 2014.

Over 30% of the Depot is powered by an innovative hybrid renewable energy system integrating ground source heating and cooling from a combination of 250 energy piles and 50 boreholes, each 150m deep.

Planancy Role
Planancy was commissioned to provide on site support to the Crossrail project management team, fulfilling a number of key roles throughout the entire build phase of the project up to completion in late 2018.

Outcomes
Forensic analysis of client generated programmes, development of key performance indicators and weekly reporting against those indicators, monthly box plans, weekly site walkout reports and detailed progress reporting on critical activities.
